Founded 9 January 1964 (legally established; predecessor University of Abidjan from 1963). The flagship public university of Côte d'Ivoire and the largest higher education institution in the country, located in the Cocody section of Abidjan. Formerly known as University of Cocody-Abidjan (until August 1996). 50,000+ students across 13 UFRs (Unités de Formation et de Recherche) covering law, economics, medicine, sciences, arts, and social sciences, plus two autonomous research centres and one specialized school.
