Named after KURMANGAZY SAGYRBAYULY (1818-1889) — 19th century Kazakh composer and dombra (traditional Kazakh stringed instrument) master, considered FATHER OF KAZAKH MUSIC. ~1,500 students. Premier Kazakh classical music + traditional Kazakh music training.
