National University of Lesotho (NUL)

Founded 1945 (as Pius XII College); became National University of Lesotho in 1975. Lesotho's flagship public university and the country's premier institution of higher education, located in Roma in the Maseru District. Originated as Pius XII College (Roman Catholic) in 1945, later became part of the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland (1964–1975), and acquired its current name and autonomy in 1975.
