Gomel State Medical University (GSMU)

Founded in 1990, Gomel State Medical University serves approximately 5,000 students including substantial international cohorts. Offers English-medium MBBS recognised by Pakistan's PM&DC. Gomel is in south-eastern Belarus near the border with Ukraine, in the region most affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster — the university maintains specialised research and clinical programmes in radiation medicine and post-Chernobyl public health, a unique area of expertise globally. Note for Pakistani families: Gomel is geographically close to the Ukrainian border; while the city itself is not in a war zone, regional proximity to active conflict (Ukraine, 100km south) has caused some families to reconsider.
