Student body of approximately 46,000 across multiple campuses in Addis Ababa, including the Bishoftu campus. Strong programmes in AI, cybersecurity, and software engineering. AAU's Institute of Technology is the country's leading engineering school. Multiple faculties span sciences, humanities, business, law, medicine, education, and social sciences. Major research partnerships with international agencies including a $28M post-graduate funding deal with the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) signed in 2018. Admission policy is academically selective.
