Founded in 1918 as Finland's Swedish-language university (re-established — the original Royal Academy of Turku 1640 had been Latin and Swedish before relocating as Finnish-language University of Helsinki). Åbo Akademi is Finland's only fully Swedish-medium university — Swedish is one of Finland's two official languages, spoken by ~5% of Finns (mostly along the coast and on Åland). Approximately 5,500 students. Programmes offered in Swedish, Finnish, and English. Located in Turku (in Swedish: Åbo).
Always confirm a university's current accreditation with the named national authority, and that the qualification is recognised in the country where you intend to use it, before enrolling or paying any fees. AlmiStudy records information to help you check — it is not an endorsement.

Why this is free

AlmiStudy is part of AlmiWorld. It is free because its purpose is to help people find their way to education — and the wider project supports the Shamool Foundation, a free school for street children in Lahore (60 students, lunch, books and uniforms provided).
