Founded in 1432 by King Henry VI of England (during the Hundred Years War, when Normandy was English-occupied), the University of Caen is one of France's oldest universities. Approximately 27,000 students. Located in Caen in Normandy. 🕯️ Honest context: Caen was largely destroyed during the Battle of Normandy in June-August 1944 — the medieval university buildings included. The modern campus was rebuilt post-war and the university is a symbol of regional recovery. ⚠️ Added by curator (collector omission).
Always confirm a university's current accreditation with
the named national authority, and that the qualification is recognised in
the country where you intend to use it, before enrolling or paying any
fees. AlmiStudy records information to help you check — it is not an
endorsement.
Why this is free
AlmiStudy is part of AlmiWorld. It is free because its purpose is to
help people find their way to education — and the wider project
supports the Shamool Foundation, a free school for street children in
Lahore (60 students, lunch, books and uniforms provided).
