Founded 1986 (Law N°7/85, by transfer from Libreville to Franceville). Gabon's premier public science and technology university, located in Franceville in the Haut-Ogooué province (southeastern Gabon). Established 1986 by Law N°7/85 through the transfer of the Faculty of Sciences and the École nationale supérieure d'ingénieurs de Libreville (ENSIL) from the capital to Franceville. Three main establishments: Faculté des Sciences, École polytechnique de Masuku (EPM), and Institut National Supérieur d'Agronomie et de Biotechnologies (INSAB). LMD-system since 2007. Degrees from DUT to Doctorate. Rector: Pr Crépin Ella Missang (appointed February 2024). Member of AUF (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie). Funded with support from the Gabonese Investment Fund, Saudi Development Fund, Islamic Development Bank, and the French Republic.
