University of Tripoli (UoT)

Founded 1957 (as Faculty of Sciences of the University of Libya); standalone University of Tripoli since the 1973 split of the University of Libya; renamed Al-Fateh University 1976-2012 after the 1976 student unrest; reverted to original name in 2012 following the 2011 revolution. Largest university in Libya with 23 faculties spanning engineering, medicine, agriculture, veterinary medicine, sciences, pharmacy, architecture, humanities, social sciences, business, law, and education.
