Private university in Mogadishu, founded 1997 by a group of Somali intellectuals as one of the first major post-civil-war higher-education initiatives in Somalia. Pioneered the post-war HE revival when the federal state was effectively absent. Faculties span Sharia and law, arts and humanities, computer science, economics and political sciences, engineering, education, medicine and health sciences, and agriculture. Has played a significant role in training a generation of Somali professionals during the transition period.
