Founded 1975 as Azerbaijan Construction Engineers Institute by splitting the architecture/construction faculty from Azerbaijan Polytechnic University. Renamed Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzMIU) in 2000. Faculties: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction-Economics, Transport and Logistics, Information Technologies, and the Faculty of Energy and Mechanics. Critical institution for Azerbaijan's significant post-1991 construction boom (Baku skyline transformation, Flame Towers, Heydar Aliyev Center, etc.).
