Founded 1946 (chartered as the Royal School of Medicine of Cambodia during the French Protectorate); closed 1975 (Khmer Rouge); reopened 1979 — among the very first institutions reopened post-genocide due to the urgent need to rebuild medical workforce. Cambodia's flagship public medical and health-sciences university, located in Phnom Penh. Founded 1946 as the Royal School of Medicine during the French Protectorate — one of the oldest HE institutions in Cambodia.
