Established as independent university in 2014 (previously part of University of the French West Indies and Guiana), the University of French Guiana serves France's South American overseas department. Approximately 4,000 students. Located in Cayenne. Adjacent to the Amazon rainforest, with unique research orientation in tropical ecology and Amazonia studies. Note: French Guiana hosts the European Space Agency's Guiana Space Centre (Kourou) — Europe's main launch site for the Ariane rockets and the James Webb Space Telescope launcher (Dec 2021).
Always confirm a university's current accreditation with the named national authority, and that the qualification is recognised in the country where you intend to use it, before enrolling or paying any fees. AlmiStudy records information to help you check — it is not an endorsement.

Why this is free

AlmiStudy is part of AlmiWorld. It is free because its purpose is to help people find their way to education — and the wider project supports the Shamool Foundation, a free school for street children in Lahore (60 students, lunch, books and uniforms provided).
