Founded in 1992 (re-established after restored independence; heritage to the interwar Lithuanian Military School of 1919), the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy is Lithuania's officer-education and national-defence university. Named after General Jonas Žemaitis (1909-1954) — leader of the Lithuanian armed anti-Soviet partisan resistance (the 'Forest Brothers'), who was executed by the Soviets in 1954 and is recognised by Lithuania as a head of state of the resistance period. Educates Lithuanian Armed Forces officers alongside national-defence and international-relations academic programmes. Small specialised institution.
Always confirm a university's current accreditation with
the named national authority, and that the qualification is recognised in
the country where you intend to use it, before enrolling or paying any
fees. AlmiStudy records information to help you check — it is not an
endorsement.
Why this is free
AlmiStudy is part of AlmiWorld. It is free because its purpose is to
help people find their way to education — and the wider project
supports the Shamool Foundation, a free school for street children in
Lahore (60 students, lunch, books and uniforms provided).
