Founded in 1956, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (branded VILNIUS TECH) is one of Lithuania's two leading technical universities (alongside KTU Kaunas). Named after Grand Duke Gediminas (founder of Vilnius, ~1323). Approximately 9,000 students. Distinctive Antanas Gustaitis Aviation Institute (one of few university aviation programmes in the Baltics, including pilot training).
