Malawi's newest dedicated STEM public university, located at Ndata Farm in Thyolo District (southern Malawi). Chartered under the MUST Act of 2012 and opened for students in 2014. Three constituent schools: the Malawi Institute of Technology (MIT), the Bingu School of Culture, Tourism, and Heritage Studies, and the Ndata School of Climate and Earth Sciences. Built on a former tobacco estate; named in part after former President Bingu wa Mutharika, who initiated the project. STEM-focused programmes in engineering, computing, mathematical sciences, sustainable energy, climate sciences, and applied sciences. NCHE-accredited.
