Founded in 1976, the University of Tuzla serves northeastern Bosnia from Tuzla — the country's third-largest city and historically a salt-mining and chemical industry centre (Tuzla derives from the Turkish word 'tuz' meaning salt, reflecting 600+ years of continuous salt mining). Approximately 12,000 students across 13 faculties. Programmes oriented toward mining, geology, and chemical engineering reflect the region's industrial heritage. 🕯️ Tuzla suffered the May 1995 'Tuzla massacre' when a Bosnian Serb Army shell hit a crowded square, killing 71 young people. The memorial 'Kapija' is near the university. Tuzla was unusual during the war for largely preserving its multi-ethnic character — the university serves Bosniak, Croat, and Serb students together.
Always confirm a university's current accreditation with the named national authority, and that the qualification is recognised in the country where you intend to use it, before enrolling or paying any fees. AlmiStudy records information to help you check — it is not an endorsement.

Why this is free

AlmiStudy is part of AlmiWorld. It is free because its purpose is to help people find their way to education — and the wider project supports the Shamool Foundation, a free school for street children in Lahore (60 students, lunch, books and uniforms provided).
