Founded 1939 as École Africaine de Médecine et de Pharmacie de l'AOF; engineering school established 1963. Mali's flagship national engineering school, named after Abderhame Baba Touré. One of the three original Grandes Écoles of Malian higher education predating the 1996 founding of Université de Bamako. Programmes include civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mining/geology, computer engineering, and telecommunications. Recognised by MESRS.
