Founded 2011 (from the disciplinary split of Université de Bamako, which was founded 1996 as Université du Mali). One of four disciplinary universities created in 2011 from the reorganisation of the original Université de Bamako (founded 1996 as Université du Mali; renamed Université de Bamako 2002). USTTB inherits the science, engineering, medicine, and technology faculties. Four academic divisions: Faculté de Médecine et Odontostomatologie (FMOS), Faculté de Pharmacie (FAPH), Faculté des Sciences et Techniques (FST), and the Applied Sciences Institute (IUFP). Ranked #1 university in Mali. Recognised by MESRS.
