Founded 2012. Mali's first major regional public university outside the capital, established 2012 in Ségou (~235 km northeast of Bamako). Created as part of the 2011-2012 higher-education reform to decentralise tertiary education access. Faculties cover sciences, agriculture, industrial studies, social sciences, and engineering.
