Founded in 1948, the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts is Bulgaria's specialist higher education institution for theatre and cinema arts. Named after Krastyo Sarafov (1876-1952), a foundational Bulgarian stage actor. Approximately 700 students. Highly selective admission via creative auditions; trains the majority of Bulgaria's professional actors, directors, and cinematographers.
