Founded in 1817 by King William I of the Netherlands (alongside Ghent and Leuven), the University of Liège is the historic French-speaking state university of Belgium. Approximately 27,000 students across campuses in Liège, Gembloux (agricultural sciences), and Arlon. Notable for its long tradition in physics (one of its early observatories was a precursor to modern astrophysics in Belgium), engineering, and veterinary sciences. Located in Liège — historically the centre of Belgian steel and coal industries — the university has been central to Wallonia's industrial heritage and post-industrial transformation.
Always confirm a university's current accreditation with
the named national authority, and that the qualification is recognised in
the country where you intend to use it, before enrolling or paying any
fees. AlmiStudy records information to help you check — it is not an
endorsement.
Why this is free
AlmiStudy is part of AlmiWorld. It is free because its purpose is to
help people find their way to education — and the wider project
supports the Shamool Foundation, a free school for street children in
Lahore (60 students, lunch, books and uniforms provided).
