Founded in 1831 as a Jesuit college, becoming the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix (FUNDP) in 1856, and renamed Université de Namur in 2012, UNamur is one of Belgium's older Catholic universities. Approximately 7,000 students. Particularly distinguished in computer science (one of Belgium's first computer science faculties, founded 1972) and in the philosophy of technology. Located in Namur, capital of Wallonia, with strong programmes also in law, economics, sciences, and medicine.
